Amputee mommy is a blog that I really like because the post are stories of one amputee who is a mother. I wanted to know what the day to day life was for another amputee mother because I am a mother and an amputee. I wanted to see how other amputee moms are living and what their day to day activities were like. The first thing that caught my eye was the title. It says, “I lost my LEG but not my courage.” Using different colors for “…not my courage” made this headline stand out. The contents of this blog are posted by a single user (the owner). This is more of a diary that was set up to document her everyday life as an amputee and a parent. The personal stories, experiences and regular updates adds a special personal flavor to the blog. There are links to other websites, for example, Amazon and amputee coalition. The layout is simple and easy to read. The headline is visible on every page and it hits you and makes you really want to read some more.  The “my blog” link has links to individual stories that are arranged by date which makes. Each story you click on has a title and you can skim through it and chose what title stands out the most and which story to read. All the pages have a white background and the text color is black which creates a contrast and it’s easy to read. The creator is an amputee so reading all these posts immediately showcases her personality. Each individual story details how her day to day life is. She was very open with every story. Each topic was different and was very effective in talking to the audience about her different experiences.

The active amputee is a blog created by - The content on this blog was posted by multiple users which makes it more diverse. It’s not just about the life of one person but the life of different amputees. I like this blog because it helps you learn more about various amputee and their journeys. You also find other post that relates to amputees and prosthetics. The headline immediately draws your attentions. When I first saw “the active amputee”, I immediately thought amputees and fitness. The layout and design is very clean and organized and gives me a consistent experience whenever I visit due to the variety of stories that can easily be found. There is a lot of content, but visitors do not get overloaded with too much information because all the blog posts are organized by date. The authors personality is shown by each story and the photos that are added to the story demonstrates their personal experience which helps connect the readers to their stories. The topics are all effectively covered because they are so different and personal. Each of them had titles that is catchy, and it also defines the post. It has links to other websites with similar content which is great because it brings in more audience. There are several posts at least once a week. The posts are not too long, they are divided into paragraphs which helps the reader to scan.

The amputee coalition website is a site that is dedicated to amputees and their families by helping them improve their everyday living as limb loss patients. I chose this blog because it is very dear to my heart. It is the first amputee blog that I first followed. The content is very rich and valuable to its audience and it’s helpful not just to people who are directly affected but to those that are indirectly affected too. The headlines are very attractive and immediately engages the readers. The layout and design are very clever. This is the organizations website that has a blog section to it. All the blog titles have a blue font color and the body of the text is gray with a white background which makes it readable. The blogs are organized by date. This site doesn’t target all readers, instead it targets only specific readers and each content is written with amputees in mind. It has an email subscription to their magazine, inMotion for free (I get these once a month). It has Q and A links and contact us links which adds to its personality. Each post has an image to it and each of these images are also links to the actual post. These stories are effective because you can read them multiple times. They also provide a lot of resources which helps build trust with its audience. Each topic has a powerful photo that makes people want to read or click on it.
